Change: to be or not to be

Change is difficult.

Change is relative and uncertain.

Change may not be in my best of interests.

Change is scary.

Why should I change? It is going to change the way I work, change the way I think, change the way I behave with people; It might change my life. One of my wise friends' once explained the concept of change to me with a simple example -

An Atom goes on to become an Element depending on how much energy its electron exhibits to be able to jump from the inner orbit (of the Atom structure) to the outer orbit.. to be able to interact with its environment or surroundings.

You know, the same set of electrons can make Diamond or a graphite. So the deal here is that if that stupid electron kept roaming about its comfort zone (read existing orbit), it would never know what it is capable of becoming.. and to move out of your orbit or comfort zone you need that much more photon "energy".

Of course I did not understand this when I heard it. I did not quite remember what an Atom was, or what an Element was. I never really paid any attention in Chemistry class.. or was it Physics?!

So I did a bit of research; just to understand the basic concepts of Atoms, Elements etc. and voila! Woww. Such great insight. Why didn't I think of it before? Things fall into perspective when somebody explains with an example. Don't they?

So in short I will have to put in much more effort than I think I will have to.. for the change to be successful.. and to decide how the change is going be .. positive or negative.

Maybe I need a change. Maybe change is good. Atleast it made me think and ponder - that's a good sign.
